As a parent, I cannot imagine helping my dancer navigate the unfamiliar and overwhelming college dance application process without Leyla and her vast expertise in the college dance world. Leyla was able to guide our daughter toward programs that were a good fit for her background and future interests, help her understand the culture of various dance programs so that she could write the most affective essays, prepare her for individual auditions (and they are each so different!) and campus interviews. In addition, I could rely on her to nudge and encourage my student in ways that aren’t always well received coming from the parent. My dancer was ultimately admitted to several great dance programs, including her number one choice, and we credit so much of that to Leyla. We feel like any student dancer (and their family) that gets to work with Leyla is so fortunate to have so much knowledge and support at their fingertips. Before I started working with Leyla I had no idea what to do or how to even apply to colleges. Working with her was the greatest thing for me because I was so nervous to apply to begin with and even nervous that I wouldn’t make it into any colleges. I ended up applying to at least seven colleges and got into all of the schools but didn’t make it into one of the dance programs. Applying for colleges will be stressful regardless but by working with Ms. Leyla I felt like I was in great hands. Currently I’m a junior at the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance and I couldn’t be more thankful for the time and effort that she spent to help me make it into my dream school.
